Sepultura - The Best Of
Best-of albums are always tough to review. On the one hand, you have the die-hard fans that have to be pleased by bonus material, but on the other hand, these albums are a great opportunity for anyone who hasn’t got any album yet. Roadrunner Records now released three of those albums of which I will discuss the best of Sepultura right now.

Compared to the other two best of releases by Roadrunner, I guess Sepultura’s will raise the most discussions. Of course we’ve had different periods with this band; the one with Max Cavalera as being the most popular one of course, before he started Soulfly. So, on this album we only have songs between 1990 and 1996 which I think is just unacceptable. Of course, everyone prefers this period of the band but it is insulting by excluding all the other work of the band, especially the widely accepted potential-classic Dante XXI. A shame! Also, there is no bonus material, just the best of the best.

What you dó get is of course a very fine collection of heavy metal music. Although every metal fan should at least have Beneath the Remains and Roots I can imagine some young kids being not aware of the magnitude and impact of the music Sepultura has made. For those people, this album is a must have. For everyone older than 20, I expect you already know what to do.
